Welcome To Moscow!!

Well, I thought I would get back on the bandwagon and blog about our adventures so far here in Moscow, Idaho!

So far, it has been great! We are really liking the small town feel and have had a great time trying out all the locally owned restaurants. There is this awesome little Hawaiian Restaurant that has the best Teriyaki Chicken...yummy!

We have also had a bit of a winning streak since we moved here. A couple of weekend's ago there was a grand opening of a video store called Howard Hugh's video and they were having drawings for local restaurants. Well we managed to take home 3 out of the 5 certificates they gave away. (we actually left early because we felt bad we were winning them all and everyone was giving us weird faces...so we probably could have won more :) )

First, we tried Patty's Kitchen: Mexican Food and Catering..it was pretty good..they have huge burritos and they deliver for free so you can't beat that.

Next, we tried Mikey's Gyros which I must say was excellent...Mike can't wait to go back! We also got to experience Baklavah ...which I always thought was some sort of mysterious food like caviar but in actuality it is a very scrumptious dessert. That place was pretty reasonably priced as well. We had a 20.00 gift certificate and bought all four of us meals plus drinks plus a dessert for under 20..pretty good eh?

So the food here has been a big highlight of our lives so far! Mike is really enjoying school...he love's that he is learning new things everyday again! Such a brainiac :)

It has also been fun living so close to Keri again! Last weekend, she had her huge Ballet Production of The Nutcracker! It was fun to see all of her little dancers out there. Melissa actually came up for the weekend to help out so it was nice to see her as well. Her production though was a great success! The pictures kind of turned out fuzzy but here is a glimpse of her cute ballerinas!

The first picture is of Kenzie's group. She was one of the little girls who was having the dream of the Nutcracker..this is her performing at the end when she became part of the Nutcracker.
The second and third pictures are of everyone on the stage at the end of the performance. If you can see, the little guy in the middle wearing all black is Austin..isn't he cute! He did a great job too! In the third picture you will see 2 taller ladies..they are actually 2 of Keri's dance instructors for Rising Stars and got to perform in the Nutcracker as well!

It was a great Performance! Keri did an awesome job!

So we have been here for almost a month now and are really liking it so far!

We went from this:

To this:

Which can create a problem with space! We ended up selling all of our furniture except for our beds and dressers before we moved so that we could go back to an apartment! So that has also been a highlight here...trying to find furniture!!!

I know people have been curious about where we live and what it looks like so here are a few pictures of our apartment. Keep in mind it isn't all the way finished or decorated (you know me! :) ) But, I will blog more pictures later!

This is the Entry way and living room area:

(as you can see we are in need of dining room chairs and an entertainment center..we are working on that :) )

( I am not too fond of the big picture above computers but I haven't decided what to do about it yet)

Here is the kitchen:

Here are the kids rooms:

(I am in the process of making some wood letters to hang in Emma and Myra's room..Myra's will hang on the empty spot on the wall above the crib and Emma's will be on the wall across from there where her toddler bed will be)

It is a bit colder here! It will be nice and clear for about 4 or so days and then just when the roads are clearing up we get another blizzard! But, besides that we are enjoying the small town! Me and the kids are also enjoying seeing Mike more..that has been fun! And to top it all off, we are potty training Joey..so we are keeping ourselves pretty busy!

Well, that is pretty much all that has been going on in the Bahnmiller world..we will keep you all updated!

To close, here is a cute picture of the kids! (Can't have a blog post without them right?)

I can't quite put my finger on it....why do all of your pictures look so familiar?! I can't believe that you're truly just 5 minutes away! (this is Moscow, EVERYTHING is 5 minutes away) Welcome to town and hope that you enjoy the snow!
Glad to see and hear that you're getting settled, let's talk soon after you're finished with Gilmore girls!

What a nice selection of hung pictures! Glad your getting settled in.  Tim and I will have to come up and try some of those restraunts.  So far we have only eaten at Applebees and one local mexican food place - yum!
