Huntington Botanical Gardens

On Thursday, November 6th, we took a field trip to the Huntington Botanical Gardens. Daddy (aka the principal) was able to attend this field trip with us because he was finally getting over his respiratory infection and didn't have to return back to work until the following Monday.

These gardens were pretty cool. They had all sorts of different ones like a Chinese garden, lily garden, Japanese, Children's, desert, jungle. There were too many to see. They also had buildings with art exhibits in them. It was fun to go through everything with the kids. They got to see all sort of different cultures.

The first one we saw was the Japanese

Then we went to the rose garden. I loved seeing all the different colors of roses. It reminded me of my grandma.

This one was my favorite. It was pink and peach

They had the most interesting flowers in some of the gardens. These were in the subtropical garden. They were all fuzzy.

These trees were really tall and from the ground to about halfway up all the bark had been taken off the trunk

These leaves were called Natal Plum. I loved them. They looked like roses

Pretty pond

These were in the Jungle Garden

Pretty waterfall

Huge leaves

These were in the Desert Garden

So bizarre

These were so interesting. They kind of reminding me of that flower in Jamanji that came out and grabbed you and sucked you in.

In the lily garden there were a ton of colorful fish that came so close to the edge of the water. The kids really enjoyed watching them.

Emma's favorite. A pretty flower on a lily pad
