Joey in T-Ball

For the last 6 weeks Joey has been in T-Ball. It has been a lot of fun to watch him and I think it has been a great experience for him. They only had about 3 innings or so per game, no one ever got out, and they had as many chances as needed to hit the ball. It was so much fun to watch those little guys play! Through this process we have learned that Joey is quite the funny kid!

1. Joey does not like playing in the outfield. He would rather play with the grass and look for interesting insects or sit down!

2. He does not like the heat and cannot pay attention very well when it is too hot.

3. He along with some of the other kids enjoyed playing tackle baseball. Let's see how many people can get the ball at the same time :)

4. He plays really well as 1st baseman and when he stands by the pitcher (whatever player that is)

5. We need to work on his throwing skills :)

Some funny things to remember:

1. On his first game, he had just barely hit the ball and his coach was telling him to run to first base and then she said, Joey, grab first base, grab first, base..so what did he do? He picked up first base and start to run with it :)

2. At the last game we were at, Joey was running home and one of the other team members was standing there ready to tag him out. Joey just gave him a high five as he was running past him and ran home :)

Here is Joey's team (minus one member)

Joey's first time up to bat. He needed a little help! This is his coach Tiffany.

Joey running home!

Emma watching her big brother play! She loved going to these games! She always made sure we had the blanket in the back of the car and snacks for the game :)

Joey waiting for his turn to be up to bat

Everyone in the outfield trying to get the ball

Joey at first base

Throwing the ball to third base but aiming it towards home :)

Every other game we played at the Timpview Elementary and they wore their shirts inside out to be black. Home was at Provost Elementary right by our house. I liked being home the best..I liked the yellow :)

Aren't they cute sitting in the dug out!

We also learned how well Emma flirts! :) She is already flirting with one of Joey's team mates!

Running home!

Their cheer at the end of the game!

Both teams doing the walk while giving everyone high fives! I loved how they did everything that the professionals do :)

Joey throwing the ball home

Joey being a good 1st baseman!

Joey really loved playing t-ball. He thought he was pretty big. He hasn't decided if he wants to do soccer or just stay with t-ball. This fall though, we are doing swimming lessons. My kids have got to get rid of their fear of water!
