Our fun-filled Easter Week!

We had a pretty fun filled Easter! This year we decided we wanted it to be more Christ centered so everyday we had a lesson reflecting on what Jesus did on that day. We even had a pass-over dinner on Thursday night. I was afraid my kids wouldn't like it but they ate everything. It was fun! We had lamb, unleavened bread (which I made myself :) ), bitter herbs, a bunch of different fruits, and grape juice. On Saturday night, we made Easter Breakfast Rolls, You wrap a marshmallow up in roll dough and put cinnamon sugar on it. The marshmallow represents Christ wrapped up in a white cloth in the tomb (the roll dough) and then you bake them in the morning. When they are done baking they are empty, resembling the empty tomb on Sunday morning. The kids thought that was pretty cool!

On Friday night, we had a Stake Primary Easter Activity. The Easter Bunny was there but my kids didn't like him very much :) They are such chickens...this was as close as they would get to him.

They had a bunch of different games set up in different rooms. You could decorate an Easter Egg, play Easter golf, Sing and Dance, do a cake walk....here are the kids playing Bunny Bowling. The pins had bunny ears and a tail..very cute!

Emma very excited that she finally knocked down all the pins. :)

Then there was an Easter Egg Hunt as well! I was surprised..they were really hard boiled eggs decorated cute. That must have taken a ton of time to do, there were a ton of eggs! It was such a nice day out!

The kids and their Easter Baskets.

On Saturday morning, our ward had an Easter breakfast and another Easter Egg hunt. The breakfast was sooo good! They had a ton of pancakes, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, and juice. It decided to be cold and rainy that day so we had the hunt inside the church.

Emma showing off her cute Easter outfit!

Here they are showing off their baskets. This was the best picture I could get...not sure why Emma was yelling at me :)

As you can see, they didn't get very many eggs..too many kids and not enough eggs! We were about to pack up and leave when this lady came up to us and said that over by the other ward's bishops office there were more eggs that were up higher for the bigger kids, so we headed over there. Holy cow, there were a ton and nobody was over there. There were like 4 rooms filled with eggs. My kids loved it! :)

I love Emma's face here..not sure what she was thinking :)

This one was a little too high :)

She was very determined to get this egg :)

Here are the kids in their Easter clothes before we left for church.

After Church, we went to the Arboritum here in Moscow to take some pictures of them in their cute outfits...here are a few of my favorites!

When we got home it was Easter Basket time! Here are our Easter baskets!

It was funny, when Mike put Emma's basket down next to her she immediately posed for me, I didn't even have to tell her to :)

She loves her new Tinkerbell shoes!

Joey in awe over his goodies!

And of course he loves his new helicopter and Mac from "Cars"

We ended the day with a yummy ham dinner and a Six Layer Cheese Cake. We had a really nice Easter. I think one of the best ones we have had. We really enjoyed making it more Christ oriented plus doing the traditional Easter Egg hunts and baskets.
