April was one crazy month. We had a lot going on! Here are a few pictures of some of the things we did.
Joey got a fish. His scouts pack meeting was on pets and they gave each boy a fish. He named him Steven.
Friday, April 12th, was the graduation party for BYU. It was a pretty cool event and EVERYTHING was free! We had pizza, hamburgers, chips, pop and BYU creamery ice cream!
They had a fun science booth that Joey of course really enjoyed.
The static ball
Giving Daddy a high five and shocking him
Sitting on needles. (Daddy saying, "See, it doesn't hurt") :)
They had fun games for the kids to play and try to win mini candy bars. One of the games they had was they had to try to find these little crabs they had hidden outside of BYU. The kids had a lot of fun searching for them and they each found one and got a large candy bar for it.
They had a reptile exhibit
Mike also had a concert that night with the Gomalon so while he did that we walked around. We found these cool stairs that BYU had just done. I thought it was pretty cool.
When Mike was done, he met us at the bowling alley and we played one round of bowling and then went and watched some dancers and singers and tried to win some prizes but no luck. It was a pretty fun evening!
Wednesday, April 17th I went on a field trip with Joey's class. We all went to a farm in Springville. We got to see them sheer a sheep and learned all about eating healthy. We got some yummy fresh treats straight from the farm and got to see some animals.
Here is his class (my camera was being slow so I only got this shot of them doing funny faces) :)
Joey also did his great brain on April 19th. He did his on the Titanic and did an excellent job. Miss Wood commented after he gave his report on what an awesome job he did, that she could tell he put a lot of time in it and how well he presented it with a loud clear voice. Mrs. Chrystler, his 1st grade teacher, said the same thing last year. Joey is such a smart kid and loves to learn and research things. I am so glad that their school does these Great Brain projects and I am going to miss them when we move. I may just have them do one for us. :)
He had the kids do a questionnaire to see how much they knew about the Titanic.
The red poster board on the dry erase board are pictures that Joey drew of the Titanic.
Emma also did a great brain this year. She did it on horses. She presented it on April 24th. We were so proud of her. This is WAY out of her comfort zone. We made poster boards for her to look at to help her remember what to say and I went up with her and asked her questions to help her remember as well. She did such an awesome job. I had to remind her a few times to speak up but other than that she did great. She even answered all the kids questions at the end. Mrs. Ferrin was very proud of her. We took pictures of her but Mike's phone went crazy and deleted everything :(
On April 23rd Dani and Zeke came and visited us and gave Mike a graduation present since they weren't going to be able to come to his graduation. We all went to Texas Roadhouse that night to celebrate his graduation and Dani's birthday. Here she is getting sung to :)
We also went to my mom's that next Sunday, the 28th to have a family dinner and cake and ice cream to officially celebrate her birthday.
Mike also graduated in April but I will let that have its own post :)
