Trip Week 3: Utah

So...this week we didn't do quite as much! Unfortunately, it seemed like everyday there were thunderstorms and rain throughout the day, so that made it kind of hard to do activities outside :(

Joey did get to ride his bike a couple of times which made him very happy! He loves his bike! He rides the bike better than he ever rode his tricycle. He had a hard time peddling on his tricycle.

We were also able to finally go visit Mike's parents! At the end of last year they moved to Draper, Utah and then a month ago they were finally able to move into their home in Lehi, Utah. It is a gorgeous house! We ate dinner with them on Tuesday night and had a nice bbq with them on Wednesday night! Very yummy steaks!

They have an enormous size basement where they have set up a projector...so we decided to set up the Wii and play some games! While the boys were setting it all up, Emma brought me a guitar and a cowboy hat and told me to play. Mike of course had to take a picture :)

Then Emma put the hat on...she looks so cute in hats!

We then played Wario Ware on the Wii

Daddy and Emma watching Grandpa playing the game!

Then Joey came down and had to put on the hat and play too :) They have an electrical train there..so that is what Joey played with most of the time.. We did get to see him a few times throughout the night :)

Emma has been in love with Dani this past week! She has to be where ever Dani is! It has been really cute! The've played and made bracelets together...Emma has just loved every minute of it! Dani let her sleep with her a few times this week as well. I managed to get a picture of them on the 2nd night.

On Thursday was a free family day at the This is the Place park. It was very rainy that day but we still went! I wasn't going to let something like this pass up. It is normally 8.00 per adult and 6.00 per child. Mike has never been and they were doing a lot of fun activities for the kids so we got all our jackets and extra clothes and headed out!

They had a small petting zoo there...it was a lot of fun!

They had horses

An Ox

Some goats and lambs

Rabbits

And of course, Pony Rides! I was so proud of Emma! She had a blast!

We then went and saw some houses! This house is where Marjorie Hinkley's grandparents lived. Her dad was the last child to live in this house.

It started to rain after 3 or 4 houses so we decided to head over to the saloon where they were giving away free ice cream cones. Couldn't say no to that :)

We rode on the train 3 times for Joey. Once in the front, once in the middle, and the last time in the back (his favorite)!

Joey and Emma on the second ride (it was really raining at this point..as you can see on their jackets)

We went and saw the monuments!

Joseph Smith showing Brigham Young that This is the Place! I love Emma in this picture!

We then took our third train ride back to our car!

But before we left we had to look at Brigham Young's house! Wasn't it gorgeous!

On Friday night was a carnival in my sister, Melissa's, neighborhood! It was originally supposed to be outside but because of the bad weather that week, they decided to have it indoors. And wouldn't you know it was nice outside until the end of the carnival when it decided to thunder and lightning again!

They had hotdogs, chips, drinks, cotton candy, and popcorn! We didn't leave hungry!

Mike and the kids watching the magic show

Joey playing the bean bag toss

Emma "trying" to play the bean bag toss! Mike had to put his hand in the hole to get her to see where she needs to throw it :)

On Saturday, Me and Mike had the opportunity to go to the new Draper Temple. It was really neat! What was so fun though, was that we saw our first Bishop from our singles ward, Bishop Max Nelson. He was really excited to see us and it was nice to do a session with him and his wife and chat after. I just think it is so funny..2 couples from Idaho who know each other both go to the Draper Temple at the same time and end up in the same session. Small Mormon World!

Later that day, Joey and Emma got to pick strawberries with grandma. Joey gets so excited..he loves to help and had been waiting for the strawberries to turn red so he could help grandma. Last week he actually got to pick a few with my mom but I didn't get a picture. I think Joey will definately be a big help when we get to have our own garden.

As you can see, Joey gets excited when he sees a red strawberry!

Even though it rained so much, we still had a lot of fun! Hopefully next week won't be so rainy! We promised Joey a train ride!
