Hispanic Heritage Festival and Pumpkin Carnival

So, I didn't think I had enough on my plate with Mike going to school full time and volunteering in Emma's school and being an in-room mom in Joey's class, so, not knowing what I was getting myself into, decided to join the PTA. Not just help out with the PTA but actually be a board member. I am the Family Life Commissioner and so anything family related I am in charge of. My first activity was Hispanic Heritage month. We had activities going on all month and then we ended it with a Fiesta on September 22nd. To try to get all nationalities involved, I thought it would be fun to have a bike rodeo. It was also green ribbon week the week of the Fiesta so it was perfect. The kids got to decorate their bikes and then they learned all about being safe while on their bikes.

Here are the kids with their decorated bikes

The kids riding around the course

They received a prize when they were done with the course

They learned how to stop at stop signs

And walk their bikes across the road

We also had activities for the kids to do. Here they are making luminaries

And then we had nachos! They were yummy! There also was a salsa competition with some great prizes.

I thought it turned our rather well for my first activity.

Yea, I am finally in October! Amidst all the activities in September, we moved! Yes, we moved again! They were going to raise our rent and since I spend most of my days at Joey's school or taking Mike or Emma to school, we decided it would be more beneficial to move back to Provo. Boy, has it been nice! I miss our ward terribly though and the area we lived in, but it has been much nicer living closer to everything! Joey has enjoyed being closer to his school too. We have walked home from school a few times and let him ride his bike or scooter.

And look at this gorgeous view we have!

Provo, definitely is a pretty place being so close to the mountains!

On October 11th, Emma's school had a mini pumpkin carnival.

The kids got to decorate pumpkins

And there were a few games

Emma got the ball in the bucket the first time so she got a special prize

There was also hot apple cider and a few giveaways. Both Joey and Emma got a hat!

Here are the kids showing off their pumpkins and Joey wearing his hat
