Joey's Broken Arm

On, Saturday October 15th, Joey decided it would be fun to jump off his bunk bed. We heard a boom and then a scream and then loud crying. Mike went in to the bedroom to see what had happened and he screamed and yelled at me to get ready, that we had to go to the emergency room. As I was rushing to the bedroom, Mike came running out holding Joey and his arm. I took one look at his arm, screamed, grabbed Emma, and headed out the door.

When we got there, there were two missionaries waiting to be seen, and were able to give Joey a blessing while Mike held his arm. I was very grateful for that!

Due to the severity of the situation, they got him in right away and x-rayed!

Here is Joey in the bed waiting for the doctor

As you can see, it was a horrible break. He was such a brave boy. He didn't cry at all while we were there only when they moved his arm for the x-ray. He broke his arm in 2 places. We all thought he was going to have to have surgery but the doctor, fortunately, was able to straighten the bones well enough to be healed with a cast.

After we were released from the hospital, we went and tried a yummy ice cream place called Earth Fruits Yogurt. It was a lot of fun. I had never seen a place like this before. You grab a cup, put in how much yogurt you want (out of the many different flavors they have) and then put as many toppings as you want on it. There are a ton of toppings to choose from too. You have to be careful though because they charge by the ounce.

My yummy concoction

Joey is definitely a strong one. He only asked for his pain medication twice. He is doing really well now. He chose a red cast which worked out perfectly with his Halloween costume! :)
