Davis County Fair

So, we had the opportunity to go to 2 fairs this year. We worked at a booth for Shelf Reliance at the Wasatch County Fair in Heber City. It was a lot of fun walking around and seeing everything and we met a lot of great people and ate fabulous food! Our kids didn't get to experience it with us though. Emma did get to spend one day with us at the booth and got to go to the Tea Party but other than that we didn't get to spend a day as a family hanging out at a fair. So, on Friday, August 20th, we decided to go the Davis County Fair in Farmington. Mike actually ended up staying at the fair and working the booth there as well at the last minute but we did get to have a lot of fun before that :)

While we were eating lunch there, a tortoise walked by. No joke..an actual tortoise walked (well I should say slithered) by. It was so funny, Joey goes, Mom, mom look there is a turtle. I thought he was just talking about a human one or something, but when I turned around, sure enough their was a turtle on the ground. I immediately hauled Emma over there because she loves tortoises.

Emma was so thrilled she got to touch one! Later we found out that the turtle belonged to an exhibit and they were just letting the turtle out of his very tiny cage to get some exercise.

Joey and Emma being silly

After we finished our food we went to that exhibit so that Joey could see some snakes. He was so happy that he finally got to touch one and see one up super close.

After that the kids got some cute balloon animals/plants :) from some clowns. Here is Joey and his dinosaur and Emma and her flower.

After that we let the kids go on a pony ride.

Then it was time for the Cat Show. We saw the cutest baby tiger, a Lemur, some other animals and a large tiger. It was pretty cool but it was getting way to hot so we didn't stay for the whole show.

We let the kids go on a ride to cool down. They chose the cars.

After that we got a Jamba Juice and saw a few of the exhibits and then me and the kids went and hung out with my mom while Mike stayed and worked at the Shelf Reliance booth. We had a lot of fun at the fair and I was glad we were able to go. That is one nice thing about being in Utah...you can pick from like 20 fairs to go to :)

Sounds like fun! Emma and Joey are both braver than their mom was at their age (or even probably now :)!!)
